BIO:

I’ve been lucky to make my living as an artist for pretty much my entire adult life.
I’ve worked mostly as an illustrator who has specialized in mimicking the art of
the Old and Modern Masters. The work has taught me more about art that anything
I ever learned in college. It’s introduced me to a myriad of styles and techniques.
I currently live just south of San Francisco, along the Pacific coast. It's rugged
landscapes and seashores often provide inspiration for my paintings.

I’ve received several prizes for my gallery work and shown in both one-man and group shows. My work has been collected by people across the U.S., in Japan and in the United Arab Emirates.

My illustration work, if you’re interested, can be seen at JTMorrow.com

STATEMENT:

For my gallery work, I work in an Impressionistic style but one that's heavily
influenced by Asian and Modern art. I strive for a kinetic vibrancy in my work.
A landscape or a still-life, upon closer inspection, becomes an electric explosion
of color and brushstrokes. There is a quote from a seventeenth century Chinese,
Li Li-Weng, who wrote: “First we see the hills in the painting, then we see the
painting in the hills.” I stirve for art that achieves that spirit.
